![]() The setup input data from one of Malaysian public hospitals' power distribution system is been adopted and simulation results via MATLAB programming show that the optimization of DG forming into bigger-scale imposed system provides a better outcome in minimization of total power losses within appropriate voltage profile as compared to current PV-DG imposed in GBRS. The proposed optimization via PV-DG coordination will improve the sustainable energy performance of the green building by power loss reduction within accepted lower losses region using Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. Solar photovoltaic DG unit (PV-DG) is identified as a type of DG used in this paper. This paper presents an optimization solution for renewable Distributed Generation (DG), as imposed in the Green Building Rating System (GBRS) for a public hospital. The framework would ensure sustainable cities and society if implemented. ![]() The contributions of the environmental, economical and social issues in the framework are 61.5%, 11.5% and 27% respectively. While, noise, location, transportation, designed by a professional and approved from authority, natural ventilation, marriage, neighborhood, education, security, tolerance and patience turned out to be the next top ten issues summing up to 40% of the framework. According to analysis, water, justice and safety remained the top three issues (13% of the total issues). The Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.881 confirms the reliability of the questionnaire. Data was collected from 234 respondents by using a questionnaire. For the development of this framework, initially a questionnaire was designed and thoroughly tested for face, content and construct validities. While this framework take environmental and economical and social sustainability issues of inhabitants like marriage, education, source of income, justice, drugs and smoking, tolerance and patience into account. However, these tools mostly take environmental and economical issues into accounts and specific to their country. For measuring the sustainability, a number of different sustainability frameworks developed. Housings is one of the biggest resources consumer and largest greenhouse gases emitter. In order to identify these indicators that influence the capability of building performance assessment models, a comprehensive survey of construction industry professionals was conducted using questionnaire survey technique while the data was analyzed using correlation analysis techniques. In doing that, this paper provides an overview of previous research on sustainable energy performance indicators and discusses conceptual framework for developing sustainable energy performance indicators. The focus of this paper is to investigate the principal sustainable energy performance indicators for modeling the sustainable performance of the residential building envelope and develop an approach for determining the most appropriate sustainable energy performance indicators. ![]() This leads to inadequate aggregate indicators for the actual assessment of the sustainable performance of the building envelope for a sustainable energy efficient building. ![]() However, it is very common to find building performance assessment models that do not take into account these considerations and therefore have a limited capability and scope. The sustainable energy performance indicators that these building assessment models are developed around should be chosen by taking into account the targeted objectives. The success of modeling the sustainable performance of the residential building envelope will be to a great extent associated to the sustainable energy performance indicators used.
